Meet our Team
Barnali is the Director of BioMedTrack Science Camp which she developed with her husband Somnath. She holds a Master degree in Social Science and has several years of experience in banking and business development under her belt. Although she is a disciplinarian at heart, she bonds with the kids easily. She is naturally creative with tremendous artistic aptitude.
Dr. Somnath Mukhopadhyay
Somnath is the co-founder and co-program Director (Honorary) of the BioMedTrack Science Camp. He holds MS & PhD in Biochemistry with specialization in Neuroscience. He has more than 20 years of experience in science, teaching and conducting research at several levels. Carrying out hands-on experiments and explaining the marvel of science to eager students is his passion.
Dr. Justin Bradshaw
Justin is a “Powerhouse of Energy ” who enjoys nothing more than explaining complex science concept in simple and funny way to students at their grade level and then proving the concept by engaging them in hands-on experiments all the while doing. It is amazing to watch how he keeps students engaged in science experiments while amused by his body language and kids-friendly entertaining gestures. Academically Justin holds dual undergraduate degrees in Biological Sciences and Arts Applications & Music and has a PhD in Microbiology from North Carolina State University. He has many years of experience as an instructor in Biology in several community colleges and universities around the Triangle area. Science and education are two of his dual passions and developing ways to explaining difficult science concepts in fun and interesting ways is one of his favorite pastimes!”
Dr. Maria (Lyn) E. Francisco
Lyn is the co-program Director and an avid science teacher with more than 10 years of mentoring and teaching experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry with 8 years of postdoctoral research experience. She has more than 10 years of experience in leading a variety of experimental science projects with students and regular participant of the NC State Fair on behalf of the American Chemical Society.
Dannette is an education professional with over 10 years’ public and private school teaching experience. She possesses a Bachelors degree in Science Education and is a North Carolina Certified Teacher with experience in Charter School, State Testing Programs, State Assessments Requirements, Individual Education Plans and implementing the CHAMPS classroom management program. She loves motivating students and enjoys developing student-centered project-based instruction techniques.
Keerti has several years of teaching experience in Biology. She is a science graduate with a BS degree in Chemistry and a MS degree in Life Science. She enjoys working with students to develop their science skills in bench and excelling their science communication and partnership ability.
Paul is a Natural Teacher with a Bachelor degree & diverse experience in working with international students at NC State University. He explains science experiments to the students going to their grade level so easily that students simply love it. He is gifted in classroom teaching as well as engaging with students in fun-science activities.
Blessing is an energetic young science graduate (BS in Biology) with passion in bench science. She enjoys working with students to carry out novel hands-on experiments. Her meticulous aptitude during experiments is always an inspiration for students and her smiling face always brightens up classrooms and workplaces.
